Scream Queens Wrap Up 2011 #2

Many were contacted, few responded.

As 2011 comes to an end, what better way to end the year at Horror Society than to catch up with some of our favorite scream queens? For this article, and all following wrap up articles, the genre’s best scream queens will update everyone on their highlights of 2011 and what their hopes are for 2012. This article will feature a former reality star turned full fledge actress Sierra Holmes, who saw her career skyrocket after a successful run on season 2 of VH1’s Scream Queens. Also featured in this article will be none other than Monique Dupree. Monique is one of the most respected, sought after, and talented scream queens in the game with about 70 films to her name.

Let’s begin with Sierra Holmes:

“Wow! 2011 has been the craziest and busiest, but in a great way! VH1 Scream Queens 2 wrapped up close to the beginning of 2011, so my career took a turn for the better! My FB, email, and phone started blowing up with offers to star in all these different projects! I immediately started reading a bunch of scripts and signing onto these awesome lead roles! A lot of the projects I was being offered were horror, so I was super pumped because that’s my all time favorite genre by far! I was especially super stoked when I got asked to have a featured role in the feature film, Piranha 3dd! Throughout the months I was constantly on airplanes flying from state to state, sometimes back to back, filming!

Some of the projects you have to look forward to that are coming soon are Prey to God, Scream Queen Campfire, Piranha 3dd (in theatres this Spring), Legacy of the Masque (a series where I play a kickass super hero), Unlucky Night, Echo Lake, The Farmer’s Daughter, Night of the Cannibals and so much more! 2011 was also the first year I started getting invited to be a celebrity guest at horror conventions! I attended a few and met so many cool people, fans, actors, actresses, directors and writers! This has been quite a blessed and busy year for me and definitely one of the best years of my life! I look forward to 2012 and the releases of my movies as well as starting to film other projects and booking new things as well! I appreciate everyone I have worked with and that has supported me! You guys definitely will be seeing lots more of me!”

Next up we have Monique Dupree:

Newark, New Jersey native, Monique Dupree, also known by the title Tha Original Gata and in some circles is referred to affectionately as The First Black Scream Queen. She has done independent horror films, fetish, comic-book, catalog and/or alternative modeling, local and national reality television and an occasional cross-over into mainstream television and cinema. This includes music, by way of her band Negro Childe, publishing, promotion, internet radio, fitness, production and pro-wrestling. Monique is married and a mother of 9 children. She is involved in several grass-root charities and social outreach organizations. To date, Monique has completed upward of seventy films and television projects, inspired the creation of several comic-book heroines and consistently works and is for hire across the country and around the world.

It has been an incredible year for me. Beyond my expectations. I modeled for two comic books, one of which is Gingerstein: Rise of the Undead. I played supporting actress in the remake of Plan 9 From Outer Space called Plan 9 where I played the character Becky. Working with Brian Krause was such an amazing experience. This year, I broke the 70 mark for the amount of projects I’ve worked on. I got to meet and work with great people like Jessica Cameron, Seregon O’ Dassey,  Erica Soto, and Reno Ministrelli. I worked with countless wrestlers on various things. Most importantly, I’ve watched my family flourish with their own careers ie: my son Chance Dupree Thomas with photography, Liberty Dupree Thomas with her acting and dance career, Mone’t Dupree Thomas with her wrestling career, and Anthony Thomas (husband) with horror novels. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I’m really looking forward to what 2012 brings. I have a lot of great projects lined up including working with Darkstone Entertainment again.”

Thank you Sierra Holmes and Monique Dupree for taking the time out to update fans and readers about your year. I wish you more success and happiness as we head into 2012.
