Scream Queens Wrap Up 2011 #4

As 2011 comes to an end, what better way to end the year at Horror Society than to catch up with some of our favorite scream queens? For this article, and all following wrap up articles, the genre’s best scream queens will update everyone on their highlights of 2011 and what their hopes are for 2012. This article will feature an award-winning actress and one of my favorite Twitter buddies, Jessica Cameron. Also featured in this article will be Julie Ann Hamolko who is one of New Jersey’s best emerging actresses!

Let’s get things started with Jessica Cameron:

“This year was a year in which personal tragedy and life transitions took priority over both my career and personal life. I lost my mom at the end of 2010 and my father at the beginning of 2011, and quite honestly it kinda shook my world and heart to the core. The first half of the year was focused on the funeral arrangements, lawyer stuff, business related issues and then packing up and moving everything out of my family home. I then also decided to move to LA – after all now that my parents were gone there was no real need to stay in the midwest.

I did get to work on some GREAT projects this year including The Sleeper, Aidan 5: The Web Series, Mother’s Blood,
Legend of The Grassman and the web series The Funny Man which got over 700,000 hits in 2 weeks. Now that I am settled into LA life, this year will be totally focused on my career. I have signed on to 4 films for 2012 so far including American Girls, Where Were You When the Lights Went Out In Rio, and Shadow. My team is currently reviewing other
offers so it is very exciting including what will be my first film shot in my home country (Canada). Aidan 5 was nominated for 9 awards at the Big Web Series Awards which is amazing and I can not wait to shoot the second season this year. Camel Spiders was picked up by Anchor Bay, details to be released soon. Potpourri has been selling out theaters over the midwest.  The Sleeper is just finalizing their distribution deals now, and I expect more news for all my past and future projects.

I met some amazing people in 2011, and I look forward to furthering those friendships and making more in 2012. It’s a hard transition to make when you lose a parent prematurely (though I am certain it always sucks) let alone two and I know that it is a healing process that will continue for years to come. But now I have the world’s greatest guardian angels watching over me, so LA had better watch out. I am here, and I don’t take no for an answer. EVER.”

Last but not least we have Julie Ann Hamolko:

“2011 for me has been jam-packed with fantastic projects. I always have fun on set. I finally got the chance to travel for a film, Blood Lodge, which was filmed in Stowe,VT and was a whole different experience in itself. Besides filming with a new cast of actors and being able to explore a place I’ve never ventured too was awesome in itself. This year alone, I shot Blood Lodge, part of The Watchers, What They Don’t KnowMovie Night (written & directed by Anthony Curry –  he’s 14) , Sloppy The Psychotic, Daisy Derkins vs The Bloodthirsty Beast of Barren Pines and Good Brutha, Bad Brutha directed by Miles Silas Biggar. I think 2011 has been a pretty decent year for me! I think my favorite flick I shot in 2011 was Daisy Derkins vs. The Bloodthirsty Beast of Barren Pines. I got to work with a whole new cast and crew of people I didn’t know until we shot and there was always a lot of laughing going on when we weren’t filming. The whole cast also seemed to enjoy rolling through favorite scenes from other movies and TV shows. That was always fun. We even did that while I was laying in dirt waiting to film a scene! haha! My highlight of 2011 had to be meeting Ernie Hudson at Monster Mania in Cherry Hill. I was literally giggling! I also finally got to meet Monica Keena which was a real treat, because her Aunt and Uncle are family friends and always tell me I needed to meet her. Also, I think the first article Horror Society did on me was a huge highlight of 2011!

I have a feeling 2012 is going to be a very busy year for me. I am finishing up The Watchers in the beginning of the year. I also have some photo gigs in January. This coming year I plan on getting back into music. I trained vocally for 4 years in high school and studied live performance  along with mixing live tracks at Full Sail University. So I very much look forward to getting back into music in addition to whatever movies may come. Also, 2012 will bring a slew of my flicks onto DVD, Blood Lodge, Terror At Ten Acres and Pembrook will be out in 2012; along with Ticket to Hell, Movie Night, and a few more! But I do hope this year will bring me my “Laurie Strode” role, or better yet my Jack Nicholson in The Shinning role. I’d still love to play a psycho!”

Thank you Jessica Cameron and Julie Ann Hamolko for your updates. You are both awesome and extremely talented and I can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store for you.
