In The Devils Courthouse

ITDC WIDESCREEN VERSION FINAL 8 x 12Synopsis: It lives on this mountain. On The Devil’s Courthouse.

The Cherokee people knew of the evil that lurks there. They carved the story of the beast into stone for all to see and to serve as a warning throughout the ages.

A warning that too many have ignored for too long. Now, the beast has emerged from the darkness… and it’s hungry. Unfortunately for Leah and her newest boyfriend, Josh, they’re about to find out the terrifying truth behind the legend. Soon after their camp site is attacked, Leah makes a desperate phone call to her brother, Steve, while running for her life.

Steve rushes to the rescue with his girlfriend, Lauren, and Max, a fellow police officer. After tracking his sister for hours, the group is thrown into a terrifying struggle for survival as the “Devil” judges their souls and decides which of them will live and which of them will die. Can any of them survive the nightmare in the woods at the Devil’s Courthouse?

About the Film Makers
KEN COMITO (Director/Producer/Writer) from Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, has dreamed of making horror movies ever since his childhood. As a child, his favorite show was “Chiller Theatre” with Bill (Chilly Billy) Cardille on WIIC channel 11 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Ken’s room was full of monster and dinosaur models that fueled his imagination. One of his favorite Christmas presents was a Dick Smith’s horror make-up kit. In elementary school, after learning some of the techniques mastered by Dick Smith, Ken would often demonstrate how to make a scar, cut, or burned flesh to the squeals of his classmates. In high school, Ken discovered film making and everything came together.

He made his first short horror movie on 8 mm film. Soon, he was creating more complex appliances for special effects for use with several 8 & 16 mm short projects. Prior to In the Devil’s Courthouse, his longest and most complicated project was shot on film. The Dead of the Night was just under 30 minutes and incorporated live and stop-motion animation.

Ken wrote, directed, produced, and acted in the film as well as assisted with filming, animation, special effects, and editing. Ken has also planned, shot, and edited several projects on both standard and high definition video.

Ken formed Brain Juice Productions in late 2009 to produce independent horror/ suspense features and other business ventures.

He has made his feature-length directorial debut with In the Devil’s Courthouse and is proud to have worked with the dedicated and wonderful people that helped make a dream come true.
