Wrong Turn 5? Yes, please!
This afternoon, an interesting status update popped up in my news live feed on Facebook. Director Declan O’Brien, the director behind Wrong Turn 3 and Wrong Turn 4, has been posting status updates about finishing a script for a few weeks now. But, this week his updates took an interesting turn. He wrote this on Thursday: “Done with the script. Break neck pace trying to hit a production window. Fox gets it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. :)”; followed by this today: “Oops I did it again! :) Should know where I’m shooting in about 2 weeks! I keep making wrong turns…..bad sense of direction I guess.”
Fox Home Entertainment has handled the distribution of all the director to DVD Wrong Turn sequels. As I mentioned, O’Brien is the director behind Wrong Turn 3 and Wrong Turn 4. While I enjoy the franchise as a whole, I think Wrong Turn 3 was the weakest entry and Wrong Turn 4 was probably the best entry aside from the original. However, Wrong Turn 4 has had the weakest showing in terms of sales and has yet to make $2,000,000. Wrong Turn 2 has made close to $9,000,000 and Wrong Turn 3 has made close to $6,000,000. So, this left me to believe the franchise was dead in the water, but it looks like I may be wrong.
What do you all think? Could Wrong Turn 5 be on the table or am I reading too much into Declan’s updates?
I can officially (off the record of course) state that there will in fact be a “Wrong Turn 5” being made this year. Inside information has also given me the names of certain cast members, and as the last film led to disappointment, this time round, the film makers are looking to re-visit the original qualities of the first film, and bring a darker, less comical style to this film…… Watch this space!

Great News, and great to hear it will be darker and scarier. Can you confirm (off the record of course) if it will be a Sequel following Part 3 or Another Pointless Prequel set after ‘Bloody Beginnings’. As a major and I mean major Fan, I and all the other fans only want another sequel as a another Prequel would be so pointless. Create a new mutant icon instead of oversuing Three-Finger (who’s great but needs to move on) SEQUEL! SEQUEL! SEQUEL!
