On October 1, 2010 Adam Green’s HATCHET II made history by becoming the first horror movie in over 3 decades to refuse any imposed cuts by the MPAA and be released in mainstream cinemas across the United States without a rating. Less than 72 short hours later the film made history again by becoming the first genre film in the history of cinema to ever be yanked from all screens before it’s opening weekend was even over. For the first time since that fateful weekend when Victor Crowley was assassinated by the powers that be, Adam Green’s HATCHET II will be shown at the CHICAGO FEAR FEST on the big screen of a major theater chain. Un-cut and Un-rated as it was meant to be.
Join series creator Adam Green (HATCHET 1 & 2, FROZEN, SPIRAL) as he presents the film in person followed by an in-depth Q&A discussion joined by series producer Sarah Elbert (HATCHET 1 & 2) and hosted by filmmaker Joe Lynch (WRONG TURN 2, KNIGHT OF BADASSDOM, EVERLY). The three filmmakers will also be bringing a sneak peek at their new television series, the horror/comedy HOLLISTON which you can catch two special episodes of at Chicago Fear Fest the following night. As always, the three filmmakers will sign autographs for fans (for free) before/after the screening so bring whatever you’ve got for them and come ready to show them how loud Chicago fans can scream, cheer, and laugh as we celebrate the resurrection and continuing future (HATCHET III begins shooting in just 3 short months) of this controversial and now infamous American slasher film.
