We finally have a release date for Piranha 3DD! And it’s my birthday! I guess I know what I’ll be doing that day! The long-awaited sequel to 2010’s Piranha 3D is all set to receive a wide release to theaters on June 1, 2012! This new announcement brings joy to 3D creature fans who have suffered through a series of release delays.

Piranha 3DD is written by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton and directed by John Gulager. A basic summary of the film states: “A year after the attack on Lake Victoria by prehistoric piranhas, the creatures begin traveling through the town’s plumbing, gaining access to swimming pools and the newly opened water park ‘Big Wet’.”
Piranha 3DD will star Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13th and The Crazies remakes), Ving Rhames (Dawn of The Dead remake), David Hasselhoff (Anaconda III), Christopher Lloyd (Back to The Future), Chris Zylka (Shark Night 3D), and Gary Busy (Predator 2).
