Another NJ director arrives on the scene with ‘Movie Night.’

There are several New Jersey directors right now competing to be NJ’s best horror director. There’s Jason Christopher, Ryan Scott Weber, Mike O’Mahony, and Kevin Orosz – so, what makes Anthony Curry different from these stand out directors? Well, for starters Anthony Curry is only 15-years-old and still in High School, which certainly means he’s probably the one of the youngest directors in the Garden State. So what does this say about his filmmaking practices? We will just have to wait until Movie Night is wrapped and released to know for sure! But if Anthony has half the talent as he does passion for the business, I’m sure his film will come out just fine. Read on for Movie Night‘s breakdown.

Movie Night is a horror/comedy being created through Mayhem Films in association with Hickonastick Productions. Anthony Curry serves as writer and director on this upcoming film still being shot in South Jersey. Movie Night, Mayhem Films debut feature-length flick, is keeping a lot of the plot under wraps as of late, but here is what has been released – a very brief synopsis – “Cameron taught him how to love, Jackson taught him how to be a man, Carpenter showed him how to kill.” Movie Night will star Julie Ann Hamolko (Blood Lodge), Mike O’Mahony (Deadly Detour), Randy Wilson (Pembrook), Anthony Curry, Eddie Curry, Erica Elizabeth, Eddie Puello, Robert Melendez, Brittany Watt, Jim & Kyle Slendorn, Mark Handerhan, Richard A Milko III, George Stover, Sami Shubert, and more.

When asked about Movie Night, Anthony reassured me that he would put out a polished product, saying, “People wouldn’t really take a 15-year-old filmmaker seriously… But I’m going to prove them wrong. I want to make people laugh, get sick, be horrified, and be entertained all at the same time.”

  1. Mike O’Mahony should not win any contest for directing. I was The SPFX person on Deadly Detour for Three months. I even left a reply on Horror Society ( his interview was full of lies) my comment is still up , i suggest all read it at https://www.horrorsociety.com/2009/12/15/mike-omah… . He owes me money, released a film with my work and stolen effects in it and after saying he would meet me to pay me my money he never did. He is a liar and a thief. He ended up using my effects, and his budget was a lie. I dont care about him, I just dont think he should be called a director. He is a thief.

    • Instead of commenting on every article about Mike O’Manony that I post, why don’t you address this topic with him and a lawyer? I have never met him before and have no idea about his character and ethics. I only go by what I see in his films. Sorry you are having a problem, tho.
