The 10 Films That Inspired TERMS

TERMS will be gearing up for production in the near future, so Joshua Hull is trying to get things started by sharing a list of films that helped to inspire the film. I was sent the list because Joshua Hull and I are actually secret BFFLs with matching necklaces and everything. TERMS, a film by Joshua Hull and J. Travis Grundon, is still a complete mystery to me even after a lengthy conversation with both men (which you can read here). All I can really confirm for you guys is that TERMS will be set in a hospital, will have nods to slasher elements, and will have very strong characters.

But! Due to the posting of this list by Josh, I think I have figured out the plot. Pulling together my 20+ years of watching horror films, getting my degree in film, and writing for Horror Society for the past 1.5 years – I think I have cracked the code. TERMS is obviously about a bunch of teens who search for a dead body in a high school library where they are serving detention. After one commits suicide from the stress, the others go to a mental hospital to seek therapy for their multiple traumas. While they are there, Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger start chasing them around in China doll masks until they are all cornered in a dome and must fight each other for survival….

Ok, so obviously that is not the plot, but read the list of amazing films below that inspired TERMS, which will probably be equally as amazing when it’s completed.

*BATTLE ROYALE

*THE BREAKFAST CLUB

*SUICIDE CLUB (no trailer, just a great scene!)

*KIDS

*NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET: DREAM WARRIORS

*STAND BY ME

*GIRL, INTERRUPTED
