Zombie Bohemia is back!

He’s back!

Yes, I said that in the same way that Fudge did in Harry Potter; and yes, I am happy to announce that Zombie Bohemia and Michael the zombie are back! After several screenings, rave reviews, a special, devoted fan base, and even a “Best Short Film” award, Zombie Bohemia is back…this time as a web series!

Things are already in place to get Zombie Bohemia back on track and better than ever. Shooting for the web series will begin as soon as this weekend! And the web series needs extras! Anyone in the Brooklyn area who is interested should contact Two Man Island Productions for more information.

I have been provided with an official press release for this project and you can read it all below! I’m completely bummed I can’t make filming this time around, but my hope is to return for a set visit later this summer.

ZOMBIE BOHEMIA TO BEGIN FILMING WEBISODES MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

After a successful start to their festival run, the crew at Two Man Island Productions expands project.

Michael, the zombie turned artist brainchild of Two Man Island front man Vince Brando and DP Chris Magdalenski, has been taking both the horror short circuit and the internet by storm. Although early in its festival run, Zombie Bohemia, a mocumentary chronicling Michael’s attempts to make it in New York City’s big bad art world, has attracted quite a bit of interest and attention. This interest is what prompted Brando and Magdalenski to move forward with turning Zombie Bohemia into a web-based series, starting with filming Memorial Day weekend.

“It was always our dream to turn this into something more than just one short—we just didn’t expect it to happen so soon,” said Brando, “Folks have been really receptive to Michael and really interested in the project—thanks to their feedback, we are going full speed ahead.”

Since it’s inception, Zombie Bohemia has been covered by our friends at Horror Society. It made it’s festival debut at the DC Independent Film Festival, where it captured the attention of the audience and won “Best Short.” It then made its way to the Midwest, making a huge splash at the Chicago Fear Fest. Michael was there in person, entertaining the crowds, posing for pictures and capturing the attention of the Zombie Rights Campaign. Meanwhile, Brando was able to connect with other directors and industry experts.

“Now that Michael’s been on the road, he’s excited to be back at home, creating his art and being filmed again. He’s developed a bit of a following, and he’s excited to announce more opportunities for his fans to get involved with his art and his documentary,” said Brando. Michael has officially taken up blogging—you can find his blog at zombiebohemia.blogspot.com. Fans of Zombie Bohemia and friends of Horror Society and the Zombie Rights Campaign are also invited to be a part of the action and join Brando and Magdalenski for filming this weekend—they may even be cast as extras. Individuals wishing to visit the set are encouraged to contact Brando directly at Vince@twomanisland.com, and if they are not able to attend this weekend, they can look forward to additional opportunities later this summer.

Brando didn’t comment when asked about the plotline for Michael’s latest adventures, but he did encourage friends of Michael to stay tuned to his blog, and the Zombie Bohemia Facebook and Twitter pages for announcements and sneak peaks as the summer progresses.
