Yes, I have taken a road trip through a deserted town. Yes, things did seem a bit off…especially the residents! And wait, the film stars horror A-lister Jessica Cameron? #Sold! Have you ever taken a road trip through a desert town? Things usually seem a bit ‘off’, including the residents. Get Away pays homage to horror films of yore with a modern twist on yuppie-meets-desert townies.
Luke, Maggie, Dan, and Sam are two young married couples that are cross-country roadtripping when they are sidetracked in the desert town of Spaulding. Their car is stolen by local townies, which prompts them to be taken in by local residents, Harold and Nancy. What turns into a place to rest their heads, turns into a fight for their lives utilizing any and all attempts to #GetAway.
Get Away is the directorial debut for James Thomas, and is the second film to be released under production company, Two Guys and a Film. The cast includes Canyon Prince (Hard Sun), David Finn (1570), Robyn Buck (Hard Sun), Tami Carey (Hard Sun), Jessica Cameron (Potpourri, Mr. Hush), Aaron Rice (1570, Redeeming Dave), and J Michael Briggs (KillCam:Live).
