Carnival of Horrors returns 2013, seeking indie film submissions!

Pennsylvania’s own horror starlet Carmela Hayslett has been very busy lately. A short film, Booley, and current psychological bloodbath, Deer Crossing, has been released to DVD. After releasing Eliza’s Diary, filming a role in Sheriff Tom vs. The Zombies, and gearing up for Apocalypse Kiss – Carmela is ready to return to one of her first loves, Roxsy Tyler’s Carnival of Horrors.

The hit web show is a fun spin on classic horror hosting techniques. Roxsy and her gang of misfits host old, mostly black and white horror films, which are interwoven with sketch comedy. Fans have really grasped the show and brought Roxsy Tyler (played by Carmela) out to numerous horror conventions. With all the recent activity in her career, Roxsy Tyler’s Carnival of Horrors has been on the back-burner a little bit. But now it’s back! And with a whole new format!

This time Roxsy Tyler will be hosting indie short horror films and featuring trailers, along with giving out information on the horror scene in general and fundraising projects. To submit to Roxsy’s new show coming Spring 2013, email her directly at carmelahayslett@live.com

For now, read the press release below for all the details!

Roxsy Tyler to return to Carnival of Horrors in 2013!

Carmela Hayslett, creator of popular horror hosting webcast, “Roxsy Tyler’s Carnival of Horrors” has announced new plans for the show coming Spring 2013.

“Starting Spring 2013, the Carnival of Horrors will be showcasing short horror films by Independent Filmmakers for web, live events, and possibly television. Being a film maker working with other film makers I know short films sometimes have even shorter life spans. Some unfortunately get put on the shelf after being passed around in the festival circuit unless they get some sort of distribution deal. That doesn’t have to happen! Why not let us give it some exposure? Our plan isn’t only to host your short films but to run trailers for current independent films and updating the horror public about current indiegogo/kickstarter campaigns.”

Roxsy Tyler’s Carnival of Horrors is most known for hosting classic horror films of yesteryear and doing horror-themed comedy segments during movies breaks. The cast still intends to keep that tradition going part-time. Hayslett has said horror hosting has been a huge benefit in her acting career but now would like to pursue this new endeavor as an effort to give back to the Independent Horror community. “I wanted to do something that’s just as beneficial to others as it is to me,” says Hayslett who is slated to star in the new Potent Media sci-fi thriller “Apocalypse Kiss”.
