It’s already insanely clear that this project is going to meet its funding goal, but Hell, the more that is donated, the more the creators can do to make Flowers even better.
Flowers is the third feature film by writer and director Phil Stevens. It promises to be a return to the abstract, dark art-house underground of horror film. In Flowers, six women wake up in the crawl space under a killer’s house. The catch is – they’re already dead, and the house is actually purgatory. The girls must now accept their fate, move on, or remain in the rotting walls of the house forever.
One thing I’d like to stress to readers is that Flowers is going to be very artsy. The point that struck me the most was that Flowers isn’t going to have any spoken dialogue. More-so it’s going to rely on subtle clues and abstract atmosphere to tell the story. In the creators own words, “Flowers builds on the journey, not the destination.” When Joss Whedon wrote “Hush,” on “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” it was phenomenal. I hope Flowers has the same success!
