UPDATES BELOW…..
On late Friday Night (early Saturday Morning) March 2nd, tragedy struck when our good personal friend Lisa Koziol-Ellis (or Foxy Goat to many) passed away at her townhouse in Elgin, IL. Lisa was 33 years old and leaves behind her husband Dash Ellis.
This news saddens us tremendously here at Horror Society not only because time and time again, I say that real life horror is much worse than any movie we ever talk about, but she was a very good friend of mine.
Officials are treating this as a homicide and details are still coming in from the Elgin Police Dept. At this time there are no leads in the case.
I can honestly say that I have never met anyone like Lisa. Ever…. Not because of the tattoos she had or the “smut-tastic” vocab she had (which is a good thing, trust me!), but because she was an absolutely beautiful woman. Inside and out.
She was never anything other than happy and full of energy. She had a magnetic personality that brought out the best of everyone she has ever talked to. Once you met her and talked to her, she felt like your best friend.
Her creativity came out of her in the form of Jewelry, artwork, and several burlesque performances throughout the years. For those of you around here, you may have seen her at any one of our film festivals, Monster Mash Up, Nightmare on Chicago Street, 1901 Gallery, or the Trash Movie Night Birthday party we did for her last year. She had a show at Horrorbles here in Chicago a while back, along with an Etsy store, and vendor tables at nearly every event in the Chicago-Land area.
Our hearts go out to her husband Dash, all of our friends that have been struck by this, and all of her family.
I miss you Foxy. You will always be loved and never forgotten!!

UPDATES: March 18th: Police have made an arrest in the case and have charged a 34 year old man named Paul Johnson. “Police said this morning he has been charged with four counts of Class M first degree murder, one of Class X of home invasion and one count of Class 1 residential burglary. Bail on the charges was set at $5 million today and Johnson was remanded to the Kane County Jail where he was being held in lieu of bail.”
I can only hope that there is swift and harsh punishment for this man if he is found guilty. Our hearts go out to the families of Lisa and Dash. Again, we will keep you posted if there is any changes or updates.

I don’t know this lady but she looked like a sweetheart, may she RIP & I’m so very sorry for your loss. May all of her loved ones take comfort in her short but beautiful life xxx

So tragic that someone who touched so many people in such a positive way has been taken from us. RIP, Foxy. You were one of a kind and will be missed by all.
