“Melissa Rose Haro born on September 5th, 1987 in San Jose California and lived on the city’s east side for most of her young life. Starting her entertainment career at 3 years old, she competed in dance competitions until age 10. At 12 years of age, she competed in her first beauty pageant and then went on to sign with Elite Model Management at 13 years old after winning model of the year at “Best New Talent” convention in LA. Melissa spent the next few years working hard academically so to graduate high school a year early (which she did in 2004) right after being crowned Miss Bay Area Teen. At 16 years old Melissa hung up the towel on her pageant days to pursue her career as an international model and entertainer, expanding her name with the top agencies around the world. Now currently signed with 9 modeling agencies she is also an actress with NTA, a commercial and theatrical agency in LA.

Some of her success includes Sports Illustrated 2008-2009, Project Runway, VH1 the shot, Nissans promotional video, The Guess campaign, and many more from the covers of magazines to television and movie appearances such as “The Devil Wears Prada” and “White Collar.” After living in New York for the last 2 years Melissa decided to move and base herself in Los Angeles to strongly peruse a career in acting, although still considers herself bi-coastal and continues her worldwide travels. Since arriving in Los Angeles she has studied the art of acting under the name of Rebecca Kit, Marki Costello and Anthony Meindl. In Melissa’s spare time she enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and exploring nature. Her passion lies in her love for animals and someday dreams of opening a charity and eventually a nonprofit veterinarian hospital. Melissa Haro is hard working, up for anything and full of life.”*

Location: I am currently based out of Los Angeles but I was born and raised is in San Jose C.A.

1. How did you get into the industry?

I’ve always loved entertaining! Though I was a dancer and international model I always loved acting and dreamed of pursing an acting career. I moved to LA a few years ago to make my dreams come true. I signed with a theatrical agency and book my first horror movie “Misirlou” directed by Trevor Simms. The idea of playing this vicious villain was exciting and I thought would be challenging but so far I’m just having a lot of fun with it.

2. What Scream Queen inspired you most?

Neve Campbell! Being a 90’s kid, my favorite scary movie was “Scream” I even had it on VHS… What I loved about her was she was the helpless victim turned bad ass!

3. What are the next couple projects you are working on?

My next project soon to be released is “Misirlou.” I enjoy horror, gore, scaring people and being scared. When my agent presented me with the script I knew instantly that this was a project I wanted to be part of. My character, Missy, Is strong, sexy and downright evil.
