DiggerFilms “Hail to the Deadites” Indiegogo Campaign

hail1DiggerFilms launched the Indiegogo campaign Hail to the Deadites, a documentary about the fans of the classic horror series: The Evil Dead. This is the second documentary of Director and Producer Steve Villeneuve, following his 2010 documentary Under the Scares, which was released after a world premiere at the Tribeca Cinemas in New York.

“The goal is to make a documentary about the fans with the fans. We think the Deadites are a big and strong family and making this film will allow us to reach out to each other. As a fan, I want to know them and I want to meet them. I want to share my collection and discover theirs. This film is not just for collectors, it’s for all the Evil Dead fans in general who made this franchise a classic.” says director Steve Villeneuve.

To make this project possible, Villeneuve contact Tom Sullivan, Danny Hicks and Patricia Tallman. “I have personally backed a dozen projects over the years, from feature films to short films, each time putting my shoulder to the wheel and giving what I could. 15, 25, 35 and even 100 $ once. Why am I doing it ? Because I believe that, in 2013, this is the way to get the films you want to see. When I first decided to start this kind of campaign, I wanted it to be more then just a usual campaign. Badges, T-Shirts, poster and DVD are the usual way to go and that’s fine… most of the time. But what else could I bring to the table? Something new, something exclusive… And at that moment it hit me! I quickly sent an email about the project to Tom Sullivan. Tom has agreed to become an Associate producer on the project and to offer some perks. Things were looking good! And then suddenly, Danny Hicks (Evil Dead 2) did the same thing. And finally, just last week, Patricia Tallman, from Army of Darkness, also jumped in.”

Indiegogo Perks will include the usual Posters, Badge, T-shirt, DVD and Comic books. Fans will also have the chance to get signed prints from Patricia Tallman and Danny Hicks. Tom Sullivan will offer some prints but also some small reproductions of is Book of the Dead and replicas of the Original Kandarian Dagger from Evil Dead 2.

Hail to the Deadites is schedule to be filmed in 2014 and to be released for the summer of 2015.
