Deadly Beauty: Horror’s Scream Queens and Rising Talent: Bianca Allaine Barnett

1422888_581830108539453_843532439_nBianca Allaine Barnett is an American actress, host, and model. Bianca first slashed her way into the heart of horror with her fearless performance as the horribly mutated villainess, Pig Bitch, in 2009’s “Albino Farm.” Next, she portrayed Marlena, a drug-addled model who moonlighted as an organ thief in Ramzi Abed’s mind-bending thriller, “In a Spiral State”. After working on numerous horror and thriller films, Bianca earned the 2011 Golden Cob Award for best rising B-movie actress. Bianca then began a hit web series called, “Watch These Films with Bianca Barnett” which showcased her love of cheesy horror films and heavy metal music. She also hosts live events and is often a guest at horror, sci/fi and comic book conventions all over the United States!”*

Location: I’m based in the Mid-Atlantic region, which is basically made up of Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, and even Ohio. I am constantly traveling, though!

1. How did you get into the industry?

I began as a model doing local fashion shows in my hometown, Dallas. At nineteen, I packed up a few belongings and moved to Los Angeles to try to get into the business. I signed with an agency that sent me out on lots of auditions for music videos, some of which I booked. I then started doing background acting (“extra work”) for television shows, student films, short films, and even more music videos. Through my friend, the amazing Lenora Claire, I was introduced to Ramzi Abed, an underground cult film maker who gave me a few parts in his movies. I kept working on small things which included a film called, Canes, which required me to wear extensive prosthetic makeup for an elaborate scene. Because of that experience, I was able to audition for and get the role of Pig Bitch in the horror film, Albino Farm. I worked tirelessly to promote my part in the movie and get my name “out there.” After Albino Farm came out, people began coming to me and offering me parts in movies.

2. What Scream Queen inspired you most?

I think they are all fantastic and unique in their own way. I am obsessed (in a non-creepy way) with Linnea Quigley because Return of the Living Dead was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I just think she has this amazing presence and the sexiest voice. She has great hair, too! I’m also a big fan of Sybil Danning because she has such a regal presence. She’s not a scream queen, but Rhonda Shear is just fantastic- I think she is so pretty and adorable! A very savvy business woman, too!

3. What are the next couple projects you are working on?

I just wrapped up a kinky horror short film directed by my husband, Michael Kyne, called M is for Marriage. I am also in the production stage of the second season of my comedy / horror review show, Watch These Films with Bianca Barnett. I also have two films that I am starring in coming up in the next few months, so please stay tuned for it all!
