Potent Media, the creators of Deer Crossing and the highly anticipated science fiction thriller Apocalypse Kiss, are now officially in pre-production for a Kid’s film… yes, you read that right, a Kid’s film entitled Potent Media’s The Sugar Skull Girls.
Three demonic sisters who resemble neo-goth voodoo dolls are accidentally conjured from the other side during a failed attempt to raise a little girl from the dead. With impeccable fashion sense and teenaged angst, the Sugar Skull Girls will stop at nothing to escape the clutches of The Pale Witch, the ruler of The Shadow world.
Director Christian Jude Grillo is in talks with John Amplas (Martin, Day of the Dead) and with Addy Miller (The Walking Dead) to play one of the Sugar Skull Girls. Actress Carmela Hayslett (Roxsy Tyler’s Carnival of Horrors, Apocalypse Kiss) has been signed to play The Pale Witch. Casting and set designing will commence after the Holidays with hopes to start filming by the Fall of 2014.
