Season 2 of BITTEN Will Stick With Book 2 Storylines.

WARNING: This post may contain season two spoilers for “Bitten.”

Incase you weren’t yet aware, “Bitten” was renewed for a 10 episode second season in May 2014. The show, based on the wildly popular book series by Kelley Armstrong, features the character of Elena – the only female werewolf in existence – as she struggles to maintain her normal human life and her duties to her pack, the most prestigious and powerful werewolves on the planet. Season one of “Bitten” had 13 episodes with average viewership of 829,000. Laura Vandervoort (“Smallville, “Instant Star”), Greyston Holt (Lost Boys: The Tribe), Greg Bryk (Saw 3D), Steve Lund (“Haven”), and Michael Xavier (Dead Before Dawn 3D) star in the #1 television show on Space channel in Canada. It is currently being broadcast in several other countries while on a hiatus between seasons in America.

In the past “Bitten” has switched plot points and created brand new ones to satisfy the television viewers; most notably with Logan dying first in the books and Elena being much more in love with her almost fiancé, Philip, in the TV adaption. Season two looks like it will be sticking with some pieces of the second book in Armstrong’s Women of the Otherworld books; although I’m not sure how this is possible after the season one finale cliffhanger. In book #2, titled Stolen, Elena and the remaining Danvers clan find themselves battling a mystic council of otherworldly beings and a military-like facility trying to capture supernatural creatures for study and for use as weapons.

Showfax, Inc. has posted a casting call for recurring “Bitten” season two cast members. The full list can be found here. Characters the writers/producers are looking for include Aleister (who does not appear in the books), Paige (a witch), Ruth (head of the witches council), and Savannah (a powerful witch who hasn’t reached full potential). I’m kind of bummed about this announcement because “Bitten” is now starting to resemble other SyFy shows such as “Being Human” and “Lost Girl.” I would love to see “Bitten” tackling werewolf themed issues only instead of a dealing with other magical beings, but I digress.

“Bitten” is expected to return to Canada and America in early 2015.

    • I have read the first book and a half, actually, and I think the television show is much better.
