Rock ‘n’ roller turned filmmaker, P.J. Wolff’s new sci-fi short film, 9 Minutes, is taking the web by storm. As a Vimeo staff pick, 9 Minutes, has already racked up over 200k views in less than two weeks and has been featured on shortoftheweek.com, io9.com, Geek Tyrant and more. The film stars Joshua Leonard (Blair Witch Project, If I Stay) as a man completing the construction of his vacation home. His dog Jett, is his only companion in a remote area of Joshua Tree, California. Strange occurrences throughout the day culminate in a night that will affect them both forever.
Wolff directed the well received DIY rock documentary Badsville and dozens of music videos for artists like The Cramps, John Doe, and Billy Idol. He is a fixture on the Los Angeles music scene and well known as co-founder of L.A. based indie label Acetate Records (Supersuckers, Throwrag, Prima Donna). Wolff now turns his directorial sights on narrative film projects, 9 Minutes, being the first.
The grind-house style feature film, Sinners Holiday — a celebration of B-movie bad girls, motor-psycho outlaws, switchblades, kinky cops and rock ‘n’ roll – is the next project slated for completion. Wolff just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help get the cameras rolling. He’s already got a teaser for the film in the can which features recent Emmy nominee, Natasha Lyonne (OITNB), famed musician/actor John Doe (X, Boogie Nights) and a host of notorious rock n’ roll luminaries like Corey Parks of Nashville Pussy.
