Monique Dupree to make directorial debut with Shadowhunters: Devilspeak.

390651_10150430704389534_446050844_nWhen you’ve worked in the entertainment industry for twenty-five years, obviously you’ll pick up some tricks of the trade and eventually you’ll want to share them with the world. This can be said for Monique “Gata” Dupree, who many will recognize as The First Black Scream Queen with 25 horror credits to her name. She is set to make her directorial debut this October when Shadowhunters: Devilspeak goes into production.

Ms. Dupree is putting together an all star team of cast members to headline the movie. The first is former ECW Champion and 14x WWE/WWF Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer. He’s currently the head honcho over at House of Hardcore, an independent wrestling show where Monique works as manager and valet. Matthew Ewald (“Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension), Angela Pritchett (Porkchop II, Plan 9), author Anthony Saint Thomas, and the scream queen herself – Monique Dupree – are going to star, too.. Johnny Johnson is set to appear and co-direct, being that Shadowhunters: Devilspeak is a continuation in his franchise which was last seen with the 2011 short film, Shadowhunters: Lost.

The plot surrounding Shadowhunters: Devilspeak is currently being kept under wraps, but I’ll keep you all updated on this title as it heads into production this October. It should be noted that Monique is also producing the film. She’s served as a producer multiple times before, so I know she has this on lock. Now I can’t wait to see what the “Gata” of gore has to offer in the director’s chair.
