MonsterMan’s 31 Days of Halloween Horror Picks – October 7

Monsterman's 31 Days of Halloween Horror Picks

Hocus Pocus 1993

Tonight’s film pick is a perennial Halloween favorite that I’ve been watching every year for the last 20 years, Disney’s Hocus Pocus. It’s the perfect film for the entire family to watch the features witches, zombies, black cats and magic. Gather the young ones around and pull up a seat for tonight’s film.

The film is written by David Kirschner, Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris (writer/director of The Stand and creator of TV’s Master’s Of Horror). It’s directed by Kenny Ortega. It stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch, Vinessa Shaw and horror favorite Doug Jones (as the zombie Billy Butcherson).

Plot Synopsis

After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teen-agers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches’ reign of terror once and for all.

  1. This was one of the first movies I was an usher for! Still not sure that I have seen the whole thing. But I do know I have seen the ending 100 or more times,
