The neighbors all say there is something very disturbing about that decrepit old house on the block. Some believe there may be supernatural forces at work. A “Room For Rent” sign hangs in the window, attracting unwitting guests to the house for a spell: a newlywed couple, a grieving friend, a businessman, and a recent college grad. What the neighbors don’t see behind the closed doors is the ghost of Ivy, the elderly landlady, terrorizing each of her tenants…to death.

DISTURBANCES is the four-headed brainchild of Artie Brennan (Sonic, Grape Dutches of York), Matt Kaplan (Actuality, The Misfortunes of a Clown), Jun Naito (Life of Pi, 8 Days Later), and Jessica Ritacco (Grape Dutches of York, Knightmare) – a group of actors, writers, and directors eager to create a new and original horror web series. They all share a passion for film, a love of the macabre, and a taste for intricate, off-beat characters. They agreed to each write one episode of the series, centering around a mischievous ghost named Ivy and the unfortunate tenants of an old haunted boarding house.

The production team quickly expanded as others came on board to contribute their expertise and knowledge: graphic designer and special effects make-up artist Patty Buckheit; director, editor and producer Katie Carman-Lehach (Eat Me!), Off Season); camera operator Jeff Enkler; and editor, director and director of photography Geoff Gibson. Thus assembled, they went into production in Astoria, Queens in December of 2014.

The team of eight self-motivated artists collaborated to create Disturbances: Room For Rent. Season One is a chilling four-part web series featuring an ensemble cast of talented and daring actors who went above and beyond to bring their characters to life (and death!) on screen. The entire Disturbed Team and Ivy’s Room Productions are thrilled to present “Disturbances: Room For Rent”, and they hope you are compelled to share it with your own Disturbed friends and family. At your own risk.

Now…won’t you stay the night?

Featuring 4 short episodes ranging from the disturbing to the darkly comic, DISTURBANCES seeks to entertain and unsettle, and all episodes are available on YouTube as of 10/13/15. Perfect for your Halloween viewing needs. Turn the lights down low, pump up the volume and enjoy!
