It may be considered one of the worst films of all time, but it also has become somewhat of a cult classic and that was all filmmaker Johnny Johnson needed to produce his own spin on the 1959 film from Ed Wood. Production on the Plan 9 from Outer Space remake, simply known as Plan 9, began way back in 2011 and not much else was heard from the Darkstone Entertainment feature film until it secured distribution in Australia in mid-2015. Luckily, horror fans in America are finally going to get their chance to see the film as Plan 9 has officially been picked up by Gravitas Ventures with an expected VOD street date set for next month!
Starting on February 16, 2016, you’ll be able to catch Plan 9 on Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, iTunes, Sony, Vudu, YouTube and XBox as well as on demand cable channels including Dish, Insight, Cox, Wow, Charter, RCN, Comcast, EastlinkTV, Verizon, Rogers, Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable, Mediacom and Shaw. You’ll have to check your local cable provider when the time comes!
A DVD release will follow sometime in April or May.
