Miracle Worker, Amityville: Evil Escapes Actress Patty Duke Has Passed Away.

One of her family members confirmed to USA Today: “Anna ‘Patty Duke’ Pearce passed away this morning March 29, 2016 at 1:20 am. Her cause of death was sepsis from a ruptured intestine. She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, a mental health advocate and a cultural icon. She will be missed.” This is such sad news, seeing how the late actress was active in the industry and on social media as early as the first of this month.

Patty Duke is most known for her Oscar Winning role in The Miracle Worker when she was just 17-years-old! Her other famous roles include starring in her own sitcom, “The Patty Duke Show,” from 1963 to 1966; as well as roles in “Armstrong Circle Theatre” from 1956 to 1959, “The United States Steel Hour” from 1958 to 1962, “The Protector” in 2011 and films including Billie (1965), Me, Natalie (1969) and By Design (1981).

In her 150 credit, six decade career in Hollywood, she also racked up a number of lead and supporting roles in horror films such as Journey to the Unknown (1969), She Waits (1972), Look What Happened to Rosemary’s Baby (1976), Curse of the Black Widow (1977), Killer on Board (1977), The Swarm (1978), Mom & The Wolfman & Me (1980), The Babysitter (1980) and Amityville: The Evil Escapes (1989).
