You know what really drives ticket sales when music lovers are considering a concert? I mean, besides being one of the most recognizable horror directors that will ever grace the planet? Album sales! If numbers are any indication of popularity, John Carpenter should have no problem putting butts in seats this July when he performs in Iceland at the All Tomorrow’s Parties event.
Last week the director and composer – most known for Christine, The Fog, Halloween and The Thing – released his second album of original scores and mood setting music. Well, it’s technically his third record release if you count ‘Lost Themes Remixed.’ Distributed through Sacred Bones Records, ‘Lost Themes II’ has garnered nothing but positive reviews and now we’re able to see where it placed on the official Billboard Charts.
These are his debut slots on Billboard for the week ending May 7, 2016.
‘Lost Themes II’
– #2 on Electronic/Dance Albums
– #3 on Heatseeker Albums
– #23 on Independent Albums
These chart placements are on par with his first record, 2015’s ‘Lost Themes,’ though that album managed to chart at #129 on the Billboard Top 200. All things considered, this means people are still very interested in the master composure’s work. Make sure you legally purchase a copy of John Carpenter’s ‘Lost Themes II.’ It’s available on all major music retailers and Amazon even has it on vinyl!
Congratulations, John! Keep the hits coming!
