Stan Against Evil Renewed by IFC for Season Two!

During all the Christmas craziness, you may have missed the news that television series “Stan Against Evil” has been renewed for a second series. Dubbed my many as a blatant “Ash vs. Evil Dead” rip-off, the IFC horror-comedy pulled in decent ratings for the network in terms of original, scripted comedy and was renewed for an eight episode second season on December 13, 2016.

While “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” which has been renewed for a third season at Starz, gets more than twice the ratings, “Stan Against Evil” is crushing the competition at IFC. It averaged 186,000 viewers per episode during season one. This beat out “Documentary Now” by an average of 80,000 viewers per episode, “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” by an average of 125,000 viewers per episode, and “Portlandia” by an average of 39,000 viewers. Despite it being the show’s first season and ratings are always high, I can see why it was renewed.

“Stan Against Evil” is directed by Justin Nijm & Jack Bishop with producers Dana Gould, Tom Lassally, Frank Scherma, Justin Wilkes, Ed Tapia and John C. McGinley. John C. McGinley (“Scrubs”), Janet Varney (“Psyche”), Nate Mooney, Deborah Baker Jr., and Mick Ignis star in the horror-comedy series that follows “a New England town that was built on the site of massive witch burning and is now haunted by demons. Stanley Miller, the former sheriff, teams up with Evie, the new sheriff to defend the town.

Look for “Stan Against Evil” in 2017!
