Motel Bar Chicago’s Monday Nights at the Movies all summer has begun!
I have spent several wonderful summers on the patio outside of classy Motel Bar, under the stars, drinking a cocktail of my choice and munching on maybe a burger or snack while watching nostalgic flicks with friends. What’s better than that?
Free, but of course if a bar lets you take up space at their small patio, it might be nice to at least order a drink. On my poor days, a PBR has been sufficient.
It is located at 600 W. Chicago and can easily be accessed by bus or an easterly walk from the Blue Line subway stop.

I’d also recommend stopping by to grab one of their flyers for the movie nights, usually a great design.
You all should find something of interest here, from nostalgic gems to genre interests like MACHETE, THE SHINING, AMERICAN PSYCHO, CARRIE, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, to the gut-busting comedy HOT TUB TIME MACHINE.
