The Evil Dead was adapted into a pretty successful and ever-expanding musical. Repo: The Genetic Opera is technically a rock horror-musical. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street has seen several adaptions including a major Hollywood remake. But now there is only one in the making: I Am The Living Dead.
Four distinct and well-known parties are combining their talents to make I Am The Living Dead become a reality. Firstly, the film is based on songs written and sung by recording artist Harley Poe of Chain Smoking Records. Secondly, critically acclaimed mastermind Joshua Hull will be writing and directing this short film. Hull is famous for his film Beverly Lane and upcoming films Terms and The Impersonators. Thirdly, I Am The Living Dead has already been chosen to be a part of Volume 5 of The Collective, an award-winning short film compilation series. So who is the fourth and most important party? You! BEVERLY LANE Writer/Director & Horror Folk Band HARLEY POE Team Up For Horror Musical I AM THE LIVING DEAD!!!
Writer/Director Joshua Hull (BEVERLY LANE, the upcoming THE IMPERSONATORS) will team up with horror folk band HARLEY POE for the short horror musical I AM THE LIVING DEAD. IATLD will be one of the 10 films featured on Volume 5 of the horror anthology THE COLLECTIVE, premiering this November at DAYS OF THE DEAD CHICAGO!
I AM THE LIVING DEAD is based off the new album from Harley Poe, “Satan, Sex & No Regrets” & will film late July. Here is the official synopsis:
“After secretly marrying the mayor’s daughter, a musician is brutally murdered by the mayor & a group of angry townsfolk. Once he is dead, he finds himself trapped in Hell. He strikes a deal with the Devil to return for his wife & to get revenge on the town. However, once he returns from the grave, the musician discovers his wife has remarried. Bound to an eternal life in Hell, the musician gets his revenge on the town with a little help from his dead friends. Hell hath no fury like a dead, singing husband.”
The band will star in the film alongside David Ross (Beverly Lane), Eric T. Schroeder (Three Tears On Bloodstained Flesh), newcomer Taylor Cauley & more!
