Do you love killer dolls? Do you prefer your horror to be filled to the brim with naked women? Do you wanna watch a 72 minute long mess of a film that will leave you wondering what the **** you just watched?
If so, then you will love Black Devil Doll, the spiritual remake to the 1984 Chester Novell Turner film “Black Devil Doll from Hell”. The film revolves around a doll that is possessed by the soul of a deceased black militant serial killer after a young woman, named Heather, fools around with a Ouija board. After being brought back, the “Doll” spends the rest of the film having sex with white women, raping and murdering people, and spouting out some of the funny lines in a movie in the last decade.
This movie is 100% ridiculous and it knows it. From dropping a promo for Rotten Cotton in the middle of the movie to having the “Puppet” envision past events of the civil rights movement every time he climaxes, the flick sacrifices a serious tone or an overdeveloped plot in order to deliver something that’s pure entertainment. As a fan of bad movies and blaxploitation films alike, Black Devil Doll is funny regardless of how much I watch it. Despite the use of a few filler scenes and some downright putrid acting by the ladies, I can assuredly recommend this to any lover of cheesy movies, slasher films, and especially to Jim Wynorski fans.
