The highly anticipated horror feature film “Provoked”, Directed by Fall River, MA native Jordan Pacheco with well-known and successful independent filmmaker Richard Griffin as Director of Photography, has released its official teaser trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay46fTLn1n4) Filming began in early March inside one of the most infamously known locations, The Lizzie Borden House. This site of the notorious axe-murders proved to be the perfect atmosphere to film a chilling horror film.
Horror Icon Tony Moran, who is best known for playing Michael Myers in John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978), plays the role of “Doug” in the film. Writer/Director Jordan Pacheco wrote the role of “Doug” with Moran in mind. Moran was the first cast member selected and became officially attached back in August 2012.
“Provoked” follows a group of amateur investigators who, despite investigating for months, have never found any proof of the paranormal. During the group’s most recent investigation, like many times before, they come up empty. At this point, team member Matt (played by Chris O’Reilly) losing faith in the existence of the paranormal performs risky attempts to provoke the spirits. At first, Matt’s taunts appear to go unanswered but while on his way home the investigating equipment starts to register at it’s highest level. The spirit answered Matt’s taunts and followed him home. Terror quickly escalates for Matt, and his girlfriend (played by Nicole LaSala), who attempts to defend his house from the ghostly intruder.
“Provoked” stars; Chris O’Reilly, Nicole LaSala, Dan Liebman, Jami Tennille, Sean Carmichael, Kati Salowsky, Camille Farnan, Michaelah Noelle Nunes, Charles Tacker, Jeanne Lohnes, Kenneth Siddons, Jackie Fabian, Paul Flebotte, Angel Connell, Alana Taylor and Tony Moran as “Doug”
Moran and “Provoked” Producer, David Langill, have worked on a number of films together and over the years have become close friends. Langill also acts as Moran’s manager during his north east appearances. Former Massachusetts police officer turned filmmaker, Langill has produced several independent films in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island area with “Provoked” being his third feature in two years. Joining Langill in the producing department is long time friend of Pacheco, Executive Producer Chris Pagliarini.
As an amateur paranormal investigator, Pacheco’s greatest fear has always been being followed home by a malicious spirit or apparition. Pacheco states that this personal fear of his is the inspiration for his film “Provoked”. Pacheco continues by stating that he, “Does not personally believe in provoking spirits, but this often used method in paranormal investigating made for a perfect plot.”
The day after filming was wrapped at The Lizzie Borden House, cast members Jami Tennille (who plays ‘Kristina’), Sean Carmichael (who plays ‘Taylor’), Director Jordan Pacheco, Producer David Langill and Production Assistant Aston Albernaz returned to the Borden House and performed an actual paranormal investigation.
During the investigation, Carmichael experienced what he described to be, “Humming in his ear…” while at the same time the back of his, “…neck being touched.” Langill does not know if it was the general creepiness of the house along with his mind playing tricks on him but he described what he believed to be a, “Shadow of a head peeking around a doorway” while at the same time, the equipment being used registered a temperature drop and electromagnetic field (EMF) spike. All of these claims occurred on the third floor.
The Lizzie Borden House is a Bed & Breakfast and those who are brave enough, can reserve a room and stay the night. https://www.lizzie-borden.com
