Deadly Beauty: Horror’s Scream Queens and Rising Talent: Manoush
“Actress, writer, singer, born in 1971 as the 3rd child of a gypsy mother and a German-American father, had her first movie appearance as “Ariana” in “M-Inspiration” (1998) and “Engagement” (1998). After playing killer “Lucretia” in the unfinished Belgian action movie “Time to Kill” (1999) she appeared in a minor role in Vivian Naefe’s _ ” Einer geht noch’ (2000)_ (TV) closely followed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Amélie (2001). Frequent TV and movie appearances followed and established Manoush in the film industry all over Europe.
Besides acting Manoush works with her own band “Cyanide Savior” with NRC Records after, in the early 90s, being discovered by producer Jörg Pasler, who was fascinated by her lyrics and her guttural, sometimes coarse voice and her way of interpreting songs. Manoush was married from 1989 – 1989 and from 1994-1998.
Besides modern music she likes classics, especially Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly,” and has a deep love for philosophical literature, workout and martial arts. (Muey Tae kickboxing).”*

1. How did you get into the industry?
I was a singer and one night an independent film maker saw me on stage and after the show he asked me if I wanted to be in a movie. So I took his screenplay and read it 2 days later and called him like 2.30 AM and rang him out of bed to tell him I want to do this. ..and then the offers just kept coming. Nationally and internationally . I am thankful for that.
2. What Scream Queen inspired you most?
I think everyone is inspired by many influences. Knowingly or unknowingly. I couldn’t even name mine.
3. What are the next couple projects you are working on?
A movie called CAEDES in Germany.. then the new Rohnstock brothers movie “THE CURSE OF DOCTOR WOLFFENSTEIN” .. and also a french movie that I am not allowed to give details on just yet.
