ZOMBIE! ZOMBIE! BRAIN BANG!

I love two things 1. Anthologies 2. Zombies….this book kicked ass!!! Incredibly diverse collection of zombie stories which is great because with all the hype of the Zombie Craze, it’s refreshing to be able to read a collection and not have the same zombie story done over and over. My favorite story in the book had to be Play Place by Mike Lombardo. The story takes place entirely in a McDonald’s. The story involves the workers of the restaurant under siege, with zombies pounding down the door, and believe me they don’t want a Big Mac! It’s almost like a coming of age story of love and missed opportunities. The ending is incredibly haunting and saddening but it’s truly what made the story. What makes this collection so spectacular is the tone of the stories. Play Place saddening but a story like Baby Armor by D.F. Noble is anything but! Not a story I would recommend to oversensitive parents by any means! It’s hilarious if you have a sense of humor AND narrated by the one and only Morgan Freeman (least that’s how the author makes you hear the voice in your head as you read). Bizarre, gory, offensive    hilarious, original, and fun, with a title like ZOMBIE ZOMBIE BRAIN BANG, you can be sure your head will explode with joy!
