‘WolfCop 2’ Is Greenlit Before Original Hits Theaters!

WolfCop is one film that we’re eagerly anticipating around here. The film doesn’t even hit Canadian theaters until June 6th, but news has come out today the production company behind the film, Cinecoup, has already greenlit a sequel to the film, now that’s confidence in your product! According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Canadian horror pic WolfCop is getting a sequel.

Indie producer CineCoup plans a fall 2014 shoot for WolfCop 2, with Lowell Dean returning as director.

News of the sequel comes ahead of the original WolfCop debuting in Canadian theaters on June 6 with Leo Fafard starring as an alcoholic cop who black outs and wakes as a rage-fueled werewolf.

Sales agent Raven Banner Entertainment is shopping WolfCop in Cannes.

WolfCop writer director Dean, and Bernie Hernando and Hugh Patterson, the film’s producers, a year ago won $1 million in production financing from CineCoup, a film accelerator-turned-producer, to get their film made.

WolfCop is executive produced by Bill Marks, J. Joly, Brian Wideen, Sean Buckley and Brad Pelman.

 

Directed by Lowell Dean (13 Eerie) and starring Leo Fafard, Amy Matysio, Jonathan Cherry, Sarah Lind, Aidan Devine, Jesse Moss, and Corinne Conley.

Werewolf effects are by the talented Emersen Ziffle.

Plot Synopsis

It’s not unusual for alcoholic cop Lou Garou to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, but lately things have taken a strange turn. Crime scenes seem oddly familiar. Lou’s senses are heightened, and when the full moon is out, he’s a rage-fueled werewolf. WOLFCOP is one cop’s quest to become a better man… One transformation at a time.
