I Am Monster

I-am-Monster-Shannon-Lark-Vivienne

Vivienne’s extraordinary fetishism has taken her to a new level: necrophilia…she violates the dead in a hospital morgue outside L.A., using them to satisfy her needs, until she meets Jason, a fresh corpse who has some ideas of his own…

I Am Monster is a cool short film by Shannon Lark (Psychic Experiment, Devotion) and Lori Bowen(Stella Buio, Justus). The pair co-directed the story by Lark, who also stars as Vivienne. The film is full of eroticism, taboos, and observations on interpersonal relationships, all served up with a helping of dark humor. The acting by Lark and Adam Cardon as Jason, the chatty corpse, is well done, as he questions Vivienne about her motivations for doing what she does (“People are vile.”). The look of the film is great as well- the attractive Lark as Vivienne, in her latex dress(and later, apron), heels, and goggles, stands out starkly against the dingy, creepy environment of the morgue as she examines the corpses, eventually taking pictures while she pleasures herself and takes advantage of them.

I Am Monster is currently making the rounds at film festivals and conventions, so go check it out if you get the chance…you’ve got a date at the morgue…
