martineJames Bond bit part player turned indie scream queen. Stranger things have happened!

Martine Beswick was born in Jamaica in 1941. Her career started on the action side of the genre-scope, with bit parts in Dr. No (1962), From Russia With Love (1963), and “Secret Angel” in 1965. After these humble but noteworthy career beginnings, Martine found herself in a recurring role on the famous soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” followed by a supporting role in the Oscar Winning film ThunderBall.

It wasn’t until 1967 that her career in horror and science fiction began with a lead role in Prehistoric Women. Her follow up films within the two genres include Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde (1971), Seizure (1974), Strange New World (1975), Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell (1978), The Offspring (1987), Cyclone (1987), Evil Spirits (1990), Trancers II (1991), Critters 4 (1992), and Night of the Scarecrow (1995).

So, where is Martine Beswick now?

Well, no where. She quit acting in 1996 and disappeared from written roles. Instead, she’s lent her commentary to over fifteen documentaries including The Horror of It All (1983), Invasion of the Scream Queens (1992), Flesh and Blood: The Hammer Heritage of Horror (1994), Inside From Russia With Love (2000), Bride of Monster Mania (2000), Ray Harryhausen: Special Effects Titan (2011), and Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films (2014).

Rumor has it she still makes frequent appearances at horror conventions and 007 panels at the age of 72.
