People’s Choice Award winner Lea Thompson has officially signed on to showcase her dancing skills in the hit ABC reality show, “Dancing With the Stars.” The new season, scheduled to begin on September 5th, will be the nineteen in the show’s history that pits celebrities with professional dancers in a competition to be crowned a champion dancer.
Other contestants in the running in “Dancing With the Stars” season nineteen include Olympian Lolo Jones, “Duck Dynasty” star Sadie Robertson, heart-throb Antonio Sabato Jr., YouTube sensation Bethany Mota, Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett, MMA Champion Randy Couture, “Pretty Little Liars” star Janel Parrish, “Fresh prince of Bel-Air” star Alfonso Ribiero, fashion designer Betsey Johnson, and race car driver Michael Waltrip.
Lea Thompson has almost 80 professional acting credits to her name, but a few of them are horror and scifi related. These credits consist of Jaws 3D (1983), Back to the Future I-III (1985-1990), “Tales From the Crypt” in 1989, Haunted Lighthouse (2003), and Adventures of a Teenage Dragon Slayer (2010). She currently stars on “Switched At Birth” and has a scifi-thriller, Left Behind, due out in theaters this October.
