Monsterman's 31 Days of Halloween Horror Picks

Trick ‘r Treat (2007)

We’re in the home stretch now for my horror picks and tonight’s feature was almost an instant cult classic. The incredibly great anthology film Trick ‘r Treat has turned into probably one of the top 3 go to films for Halloween. The film is directed by Michael Dougherty, whose previous writing credits include X-Men 2, Urban Legends: Bloody Mary and Superman Returns.

This film features an incredible cast, great story and tremendous makeup effects. The film’s  mischievous mascot Sam has become a truly memorable character in horror cinema. Each of the intertwining stories are great segments in themselves using the imp Sam in the wraparounds. This Halloween classic should be on everyone’s must watch list this year.

Trick ‘r Treat is written and directed by Michael Dougherty. The cast features Dylan Baker, Rochelle Aytes, Quinn Lord, Lauren Lee Smith, Moneca Delain, Tahmoh Penikett, Brett Kelly, Anna Paquin, Leslie Bibb and Brian Cox.

Plot Synopsis

Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
