News today on Robert Kirkman’s latest horror opus OUTCAST gets a series order at Cinemax. The Walking Dead’s creator and executive producer along with Chris Black have created the series based on Kirman’s comic of the same name. The exorcism series has been given a 10-episode order on the cable network.

Cinemax acquired the script and gave it a pilot green light last July. Like The Walking Dead, Outcast too is based on a comic by Kirkman, who serves as executive producer alongside Black, David Alpert of Circle of Confusion, Sharon Tal Yguado of FIC and Sue Naegle.

Outcast, based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, follows Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister), a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever. Gabriel Bateman co-stars. The pilot was directed by Adam Wingard.
