It’s hard not to say the title of this flick without sounding like Bill & Ted or a surfer from California. I mean, just try it for yourself. Dude Bro Party Massacre!
I’m not exactly sure how I stumbled across this upcoming feature, but I’m glad I did. Not only does it appear to be a slasher film with a retro feel to it, but it also seems to contain a female as the serial killer. This doesn’t happen a lot in horror films, so I’m excited to see the backstory here.
And incase you’re wondering, there isn’t a Dude Bro Party Massacre and Dude Bro Party Massacre II. The idea was originally created as a mock trailer by 5 Second Films in 2010. After an overwhelmingly positive response they decided to fundraise through Kickstarter and make it into a real feature film that wrapped production in January 2014. Without the fundraising of course, it was birthed much in the same way that Machete was.
Currently, Dude Bro Party Massacre is hitting the film festival circuit worldwide, so I don’t think it’ll be long before you see this one playing somewhere. I think it’s going to be as well received as the original mock trailer. It’s definitely going to appeal to several different viewer demographics!
This horror comedy is written and directed by Tomm Jacobsen, Michael Rousselet, and Jon Salmon.
