In “Book of Shadows” – written by Adam Simon and Joe Menosky, and directed by Allan Kroeker – Increasingly bold, violent warnings continue to crop up in Salem, leading Mary to pursue her most vital task with a new vigor – forging an alliance with Anne. Under Mary’s guidance, Anne begins to explore her newfound powers – though things don’t go quite as planned. Meanwhile, Cotton makes his way back to Salem; Mary and Wainwright continue to explore their mutual interests; Mercy moves forward in her quest for revenge; and Alden leaves a chilling message for Mary.
Season two of “Salem” returns with 13 episodes at the dawn of a Witch War, and the town’s ruthless leading witch, Mary Sibley, has just completed a legendary supernatural ritual that unleashed a devastating plague on the unsuspecting citizens of Salem. As death and disease continue to spread through the war-torn village, Mary must face off against adversaries old and new, from within Salem and beyond, who are vying for her throne.
From creators and writers Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, “Salem” is a gripping one-hour supernatural drama that boldly re-imagines the infamous 17th century witch trials in colonial Massachusetts in a world where witches are real, but they are not who or what they seem. New to the cast of “Salem” for season two are Lucy Lawless (“Xena: Warrior Princess”, “Spartacus”), Stuart Townsend (“Betrayal,” “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”), Joe Doyle (“Raw”) and Oliver Bell (“The Saint”).
Guest starring in “Book of Shadows” are Sammi Hanratty as Dollie and Jeremy Crutchley as Hathorne.
