Following the success of their prior film, Hometown Hero, the team that brought you River City Panic, has been eager to get back on set and make a new film even bigger, bolder and funnier than the last. With that goal in mind, “Grace’s Room” was born. The team will craft a film that will both shock and entertain, while rekindling the forgotten magic of physical horror effects and pushing the boundaries of what independent horror-comedy can and should be.

Shot in Ottawa IL, Grace’s Room will take advantage of the small town location to shoot a unique Horror film in the heart of the Midwest. The film will immerse its audience in a world of a misfit gang thrown into a gruesome horror movie scenario, where neither they nor the cult they uncover seem to have any idea of how to handle themselves.

Created by Hometown Hero productions, based in Ottawa IL, the director along with experienced cinematographers, screenwriters, artists, actors, sound designers, makeup artists and more, will bring their talents to this film.

Inspired by”Kill List” meets “Tucker & Dale Vs Evil”, or what would have happened if “Troma” had been behind “House of the Devil”, the look of the film will be very self-serious, with low key, shadow heavy mood lighting shot with professional-grade cameras and lenses, serving as a stark contrast to our gangs slapstick antics.

“I want to create a film in the small town I love and grew up in” explained Grace’s Room writer and Director Tyler Amm “I could make films anywhere but I choose to stay in Ottawa because it’s a crazy place and I think there are a lot of stories to tell here.”

Grace’s Room is being created by a group of likeminded professionals who share the common goal of pushing the boundaries of film. Amm has assembled a team of experienced cinematographers, screenwriters, artists, and actors to help bring the world of Grace to life on the big screen.

Grace’s Room will be the first in a series of horror films that will take place in Ottawa, but it cannot happen without your help.
