Back in July 2014 it was rumored that a sequel to Hocus Pocus was in development. The 1993 film which stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy has become a classic Halloween film and was a box office success, however, Disney was quick to shut down any talk of a sequel and The Sanderson sisters were quickly sent back to slumber.

It’s no surprise to me, then, that someone, somewhere would continue on the legacy of Hocus Pocus, even if it’s through a ratchet, musically inclined viral video. And that someone is Todrick Hall, the former “American Idol” semi-finalist turned YouTube sensation turned MTV star. Together with the same team that produced his new series, Hall released a parody video called Hocus Broke-Us. Check it out below for some Halloween thematics, Hocus Pocus remembrance and silliness.

Hall’s show, “Todrick,” airs on MTV Monday nights at 10:30PM.
