BASTARD hits select theaters and all VOD outlets today and I cannot stress how much you need to see this film from Powell Robinson and Patrick R. Young. Do not let the simple synopsis fool you: BASTARD is a brutal beast; a truly original film with an amazing cast, great special effects, and everything else you want from a horror flick. Most of all, it’s a breath of fresh air in the “masked slasher” subgenre of horror. So, check out the trailer, check out my review, and go see one of the best horror films of 2015 in theaters NOW. You’ll thank me for it later.

In the mean time, sources behind the film have released the tune that plays during the end credits, one that is sure to please your ear buds. The best part is, all you need to do is tweet $bastardfilm with your ticket stub or proof of VOD purchase and you’ll automatically receive more music from the soundtrack for FREE. You’ll also be added to the drawing for a FREE, signed poster… and who doesn’t like free shit? Details follow me.

For Immediate Release:

BASTARD, part of After Dark Films’ 8 Films to Die For, releases today into 11 nationwide theaters and VOD (iTunes, Amazon, etc..). BASTARD follows five strangers – newlywed serial killers, a suicidal cop, and two runaways – as they become suspect and victim when a masked murderer makes its presence known in an isolated mountain town.

As well as releasing the nostalgic, leg-warmer-era End Credits Music from composer Kyle Hnedak (below), the filmmakers announced that anyone who shares or retweets their proof of purchase will receive more music as well as enter to win a signed poster. Just use #bastardfilm to get their attention!

The directors (Powell Robinson & Patrick R. Young) had this to say to their fans: “The initial response to our film’s trailer and those excited for the film have made the last two years of dedicated work not only worth it, but have in turn inspired us. We set out to make a movie that would make horror lovers want to pick up a camera and make their own film and now have ourselves been reminded why we wanted to do this in the first place. So, thank you. Enjoy the bloodbath!”

BASTARD stars Rebekah Kennedy (Season of the Witch), Tonya Kay (Nightmare Code), Ellis Greer, Dan Creed, Will Tranfo, and Burt Culver (Starry Eyes).
