FX seems to have complete confidence on its ratings winner, American Horror Story. The current fifth season, Hotel is doing quite well in the ratings, prompting the network to give the green light to another season. No word yet as to what creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will have in store for viewers in another season.

Per Deadline, The untitled sixth season of the franchise co-created by Ryan Murphy and Brad FX logoFalchuk will debut in 2016, the network confirmed. And, in today’s announcement, FX Networks/FX Productions CEO John Landgraf boasted that the franchise had “push[ed] every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity” and been rewarded with crowds that made it FX’s highest-rated show. It also has snagged 13 Emmys, including five for last season’s American Horror Story: Freak Show.

The fifth installment, American Horror Story: Hotel, is pacing ahead of the average ratings of all prior installments on a Live+3 basis. Through its first four episodes, AHS: Hotel is 7% ahead of Freak Show among adults 18-49 and 1% among total viewers. The Hotel premiere was the second-most-watched telecast in FX Networks history, behind only the premiere episode of Freak Show. AHS: Hotel stars Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock.

As usual, as soon as we get any tidbits of information on the upcoming sixth season, we’ll be sharing it right here at Horror Society!
