R.I.P. Wayne Rogers

wayne-rogers-419x630This is not how I was hoping to start of 2016.

Sources are confirming the death of former Golden Globe nominee Wayne Rogers. It is being reported that he died in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 25th 2015 due to complications stemming from pneomonia. He was 82-years-old and is survived by his wife, Amy Hirsh.

A star known for plenty of westerns, war movies and crime-thrillers, Wayne is perhaps best known for playing Captain John “Trapper” McIntyre in 73 episodes of *M*A*S*H* from 1972 to 1975. He did, however, lent some contributions to the horror and science-fiction genres outside of his guest spots on “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and “The Invaders.”

Rogers first forayed into these genres with a small role in Chamber of Horrors (1966) and two years later he would write and executively produce The Astro-Zombies. His other credits here include Doomsday Machine (1972), It Happened One Christmas (1977), I Dream of Jeannie: 15 Years Later (1985) and Love Lies Bleeding (1999).

He also wrote Night of the Twisters (1996).

All of us here at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
