While Ghost Box may not be a film about a demonically possessed body part, it is a new horror-thriller from one of my favorite indie directors – Mike O’Mahoney. You may remember him as the demented, blood splattering creator of Maniac Films’ previous projects Deadly Detour, Sloppy the Psychotic, I.B.S. and A Dark Place Inside. A Dark Place Inside marked a change in tone for O’Mahoney, with the film being a little more on the serious side and Ghost Box hopes to keep the momentum going in that direction.
The film follows a young man, Mark (played by Chris Dalbey) who gives up everything to become a writer in the paranormal field. While conducting research for his first book, he stumbles upon an old lady (played by Carol Florence of Twelve Monkies) with bigger problems than he may be prepared to handle, especially when the ghostly problem becomes Hell-bent on torturing him!
Other cast members include Phil Aroujio, Matt Garafalo, Lauren Ojeda and Edward X. Young.
