Seventh ‘Child Play’ Film Shooting in Capetown? Jennifer Tilly to Return?

The Chucky Franchise will always have a special place in my heart considering Child’s Play II was the first horror film I remember watching at the ripe age of seven years old. I can, however, admit that a few of the following sequels left a lot to be desired… namely Seed of Chucky. The last sequel, released straight-to-DVD in 2013, was right on the borderline of good and bad so I’m definitely interested to see where the next installment is headed. Luckily, Don Mancini broke the news via Twitter that the seventh Chucky movie could be moving forward and maybe we’ll see it as soon as 2017.

Don Mancini has been quite vocal in the last two and a half years since Curse of Chucky was released, speaking on social networking sites multiple times about the seventh script that was currently in development. On Sunday, February 21st 2016, everything changed when Mancini inexplicable Tweeted one of the franchise’s brightest stars, Jennifer Tilly, in reference to the rumored new movie. Tilly has appeared in the last three Child’s Play films – Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky and Curse of Chucky.

The tweet, simply states, asks Tilly about her personal feelings in reference to shooting the new movie in Capetown… as in Capetown, South Africa?! I’d love to see how the devilish dolls made it all the way there. Check out the Tweets below.

As you can see, Fiona Dourif – who played the lead role of Nica in Curse of Chucky, also commented and agreed with the other two franchise stars. Maybe the wheelchair bound redhead will also return for the new movie? All I know is, I can’t wait to see how this all turns out! I’m ready for a new Child’s Play asap.

Mancini is responsible for almost the entire creation of every Chucky movie; having directed the last two installments, produced Bride of Chucky and having written every single film in the franchise.
