  • 1988 – Ed Speleers, appears in “Howl”, “Love Bite”, “A Lonely Place to Die”, “Witchville” and “Eragon.”
  • 1978 – Issac Meisenheimer who appeared in and was assistant director of the 2008 remake of “Day of the Dead.”
  • 1964 – Russell Crowe who starred in “Gladiator”, “Virtuosity” and “Man of Steel.”
  • 1946 – The late makeup effects legend Stan Winston, he provided the makeup effects and or special effects for such films as “Terminator”, “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”, “Interview with the Vampire”, “Aliens”, “Predator”, “The Monster Squad”, “Leviathan”, “Congo”, “The Relic” and many many more.
  • 1939 – Francis Ford Coppla, who directed the films “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” “Dementia 13,” and “The Terror.”
  • 1934 – Ian Richardson who appeared in “From Hell,” “Dark City,” and played “Sherlock Holmes” in the TV version of “Hound of the Baskervilles.”
  • 1933 – Wayne Rogers a.k.a. “Trapper John McIntyre.” He appeared in the film “Chamber of Horrors,” and he co-wrote the screenplay for and was executive producer of Ted V. Mikel’s masterpiece, “The Astro Zombies.”
  • 1917 – R. G. Armstrong, who played “Uncle Lewis” in the “Friday the 13th” TV series, as well as appearing in films such as “The Car,” “Devil Dog; The Hound Of Hell,” and “Predator.”
  • 1915 – Character actor Stanley Adams, who appeared in the TV movies “The Night Stalker” and “The Norliss Tapes.” He also appeared in “The Devil’s Platform” episode of “Kolchak: The Night Stalker” TV series and as “Cyrano Jones” in the “Star Trek” episode, “The Trouble With Tribbles.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – APRIL 7

  • 2015 – Geoffrey Lewis, father of Juliette Lewis was a wonderful character actor who appeared in “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto”, “Wicked Little Things”, “The Devil’s Rejects”, “Song of the Vampire”, “The X-Files (TV Series)”, “Trilogy of Terror II”, “Night of the Comet”, “Salem’s Lot” and so many more. He passed away at the age of 79.
  • 2007 – Luke Tillman, who did special effects for the shows “Lidsville” and “The Bugaloos,” passed away at the age of 86.
  • 2002 – John Agar, passed away at the age of 81. His many film credits include “Revenge Of The Creature,” “Tarantula,” “Invisible Invaders” and in two rare instances where he played the villains, “The Brain From Planet Arous” and “The Hand Of Death.” He was also married to Shirley Temple.
  • 2001 – Beatrice Straight, who co-starred in the films “Poltergeist” and the TV movies “The Dain Curse” and “Wes Craven’s Chiller,” passed away at the age of 86.
  • 1983 – Kenyon Hopkins who composed many film and TV scores, passed away at the age of 71. He is best known to horror fans for his collaborations with producer Creed Taylor entitled “Shock” and “Panic, Son of Shock.”
  • 1972 – Victor Wong who portrayed “Charlie the Cook” in both “King Kong” and “Son of Kong” passed away on at the age of 65.
