  • 1988 – Katy Johnson Evans, has appeared in “2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams” and “Nightfall.”
  • 1984 – Claire Foy, has appeared in “Frankenstein and the Vampyre: A Dark and Stormy Night”, “Vampire Academy”, “Season of the Witch” and “Being Human (TV Series.”
  • 1978 – Nikki Griffin, we’ve seen in “Under the Bed”, “Monster Night”, “The Forgotten Ones.”
  • 1976 – Lukas Haas who appeared in the films “Solarbabies,” “The Lady In White,” “Mars Attacks” and “Inception.”
  • 1952 – Horror writer/historian David J. Skal.
  • 1937 – George “The Animal” Steele who appeared as Tor Johnson in the film “Ed Wood.”
  • 1927 – Peter Mark Richman, who starred in “Friday the 13th part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan” and “Dark Intruder.”
  • 1915 – Barry Nelson, who had the distinction of being the first to play “James Bond” albeit on the little screen in an adaptation of the “Bond” novel “Casino Royale” which appeared on the “Climax!” TV series. He also appeared in “The Shining.”
  • 1917 – William ‘Billy’ Benedict who appeared in the films “Bride of the Monster,” “The Adventures of Captain Marvel,” and “The Magnetic Monsters.”
  • 1913 – Les Tremayne, whose numerous films included “Attack of the B-Movie Monster,” “The Monster of Piedras Blancas,” “War of the Worlds,” and “The Monolith Monsters.” He also appeared as “Mentor” in the “Shazam” TV series and was the narrator of the American version of “King Kong vs. Godzilla.”
  • 1908 – Karl “Killer ” Davis, who appeared in the films “Creature With the Atom Brain,” “Mighty Joe Young” and “The Zombies of Mora Tau.”
  • 1889 – Arthur Lange who composed the soundtrack for such films as the 1929 version of “Mysterious Island,” “The Undying Monster,” and “The Mad Magician.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – APRIL 16

  • 2003 – Graham Jarvis, appeared in “The X-Files (TV Series)”, “Tales from the Crypt (TV Series)”, “Misery”, “The Munsters Today (TV Series)”, “Prophecy” and many more. He passed away at the age of 72.
  • 2002 – Perennial TV star, Robert Urich, who starred in “S.W.A.T.,” “Vegas” and “Spencer For Hire,” passed away at the age of 55. He also co-starred in the TV movie “Killdozer.”
  • 1992 – Neville Brand who was best known for his portrayal of Al Capone on the TV series “The Untouchables,” passed away on at the age of 71. His numerous film appearances included the TV movie “Killdozer” (with the above mentioned Robert Urich), “The Psychic Killer, ” and “Without Warning.”
  • 1985 – Character actor Scott Brady, appeared in numerous televisions and film roles including “Gremlins”, “Satan’s Sadists”, “Nightmare in Wax”, “Journey to the Center of Time”, “Castle of Evil”, “He Walked by Night” and many more. He passed away at 60.
