  • 1992 – Stephanie Leon, who appeared in “The Black Cat” (2204) and “Hood of Horror.”
  • 1981 – Calico Cooper, daughter of rock star Alice, who appeared in the films “The Curse of El Charron. & “Junkfood Horrorfest.”
  • 1978 – Mike Flanagan, writer/producer/director of such films as “Absentia”, “Oculus”, “Hush”, “Before I Wake”, “Ouija 2”, and more.
  • 1977 – Matt Czuchry, who appeared in “Eight-Legged Freaks” and played “Willie Loomis” in the 2004 remake of “Dark Shadows.”
  • 1975 – Tahmoh Penikett, who starred in the the TV series “Battlestar Galactica,” “Dollhouse”, “Man of Steel”, “Supernatural (TV Series)” and the film “Trick r Treat.”
  • 1968 – Timothy Olyphant, who starred in the films “Scream 2,” “The Dreamcather” and “the 2009 remake of “The Crazies.”
  • 1960 – John Billingsley, who starred on the TV series” “Enterprise,” “True Blood” and “The Others.” He appeared in the film “2012.”
  • 1959 – Bronson Pinchot, who was known for playing “Balki” on the TV series “Perfect Strangers.” He starred in the TV movie “The Langoliers” and appeared as “The Prankster” on the TV series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.”
  • 1936 – Anthony Zerbe who appeared in the films “The Omega Man,” “The Dead Zone” and “Star Trek: Insurrection.”
  • 1927 – David Hedison who played the title role of “The Fly.” He also starred in the 1960 film “The Lost World” and the TV series “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.”
  • 1908 – One of the greatest classic actors of our time, James Stewart, passed away at the age of 89. He starred in the wonderful fantasy tale, “It’s a Wonderful Life” as well as “Bell, Book & Candle” and the Alfred Hitchcock thriller “Rear Window.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY – MAY 20

  • 2015 – Mary Ellen Trainor, actress who appeared in “Roswell (TV Series)”, “Congo”, “Death Becomes Her”, “The Monster Squad”, “Ghostbusters II”, “Tales from the Crypt (TV Series)” and starred in all four “Die Hard” films. She passed away at the age of 62.
  • 1996 – Jon Pertwee who played Doctor Who # 3 and appeared in the films “The House That Dripped Blood” and “Carry On Screaming,” passed away at the age of 76.
  • 1989 – Anton Diffring who starred as “Dr. Frankenstein” in the unsold Hammer pilot “Tales of Frankenstein,” passed away at the age of 70. He also starred in the films “The Man Who Could Cheat Death” and “Circus of Horrors.”
  • 1989 – One of the original “Prime Time Players” on “Saturday Night Live,” Gilda Radner, passed away at the age of 42. She starred with her husband Gene Wilder in the movie “Haunted Honeymoon” (her last film).
